15-008 Dworshak offers timber sale to improve forest health

AHSAHKA, Idaho – The Walla Walla District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, invites interested parties to bid on the sale of approximately 122 acres of timber on Corps-managed forest lands at Dworshak Dam and Reservoir in Clearwater County, Idaho. The timber sale is planned to contain and control an outbreak of Douglas fir beetle in the area east of Dent Bridge in Sections 25 and 26 of T38N, R02E, Boise Meridian.

15-007 Dworshak discharge flows to fluctuate Monday morning, Feb. 2

AHSAHKA, Idaho – Water discharge from Dworshak Dam near Orofino, Idaho, will temporarily fluctuate on Monday, Feb. 2, while U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff performs scheduled maintenance, operations officials at the dam announced today.

15-005 Ice Harbor dredging complete; lock operations return to normal -- Corps dredging operations continue in Lewiston-Clarkston area

WALLA WALLA , Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completed federal navigation channel dredging at Ice Harbor Lock and Dam yesterday, Jan. 14. Ice Harbor lock operations have returned to normal and dredging equipment has been removed, including water quality monitoring buoys, and relocated upstream to work areas in the Snake and Clearwater rivers at Lewiston-Clarkston.

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – If your upcoming Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday weekend plans include a road trip to visit family and friends on the opposite side of the lower Snake River, you may want to keep in mind that most U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dams are closed to cross-dam public vehicle traffic on federal holidays, unless otherwise announced.

15-003 Corps to begin lower Snake River dredging; River mariners need to be aware of dredging equipment at multiple locations starting Jan. 8

WALLA WALLA , Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, and its dredging contractor American Construction Company plan to begin lower Snake River dredging on or about Monday, Jan. 12, at the downstream lock approach of Ice Harbor Dam, plus at the confluence of the Snake-Clearwater rivers in the Lewiston-Clarkston area. Dredging vessels and equipment will also be moving between the dredging locations and the dredged material placement site (River Mile 116) during this time. The dredging is likely to involve a 24-hour-a-day operation. Starting Jan. 8, prior to the start of dredging, the contractor will be placing water quality monitoring buoys both downstream and upstream at the dredging locations.

KENNEWICK, Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District (Corps) invites public input, ideas and concerns regarding a proposed ecosystem restoration project along the Clover Island shoreline. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) and the Port of Kennewick (Port) are partnering on a feasibility study of ecosystem restoration along the Columbia River at Clover Island (River Mile 329), located in Kennewick, Wash.

15-001 Corps proceeding with planned lower Snake River dredging

WALLA WALLA , Wash. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will proceed with planned dredging of problem sediment areas in the lower Snake River on or about Jan. 12, as a result of a favorable ruling from the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington in Seattle.
