    The Walla Walla District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) seeks public comments regarding the scope of the Columbia Park Land Disposal Environmental Assessment (EA).

    19-087 Texas Rapids recreational area to be closed temporarily Aug 5-11 for parking lot repairs

    The Texas Rapids recreational area, located four miles from Little Goose Lock and Dam on the lower Snake River near Starbuck, Washington, will be closed August 5-11 to accommodate asphalt maintenance work to the parking lot and access road, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials announced today.

    19-086 Dworshak discharge flows to decrease to 12,500 cfs July 19; total flows will be reduced to 11,500 cfs by the weekend

    As the cool weather continues through today, we will start to see a significant warm up to the Clearwater and Middle and Lower Snake Basins starting on Sunday, July 21 and persisting through the early part of next week https://www.weather.gov. Temperatures are forecasted to be in the high 90s with the potential to hit 100 degrees in numerous locations on Monday, July 23, 2019.

    19-085 Roadway closed across Lower Monumental Lock and Dam July 29 – Aug. 5, 2019 for maintenance

    The roadway across Lower Monumental Lock and Dam will be closed to traffic beginning at 6:30 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2019 and will reopen at 06:30 a.m. Monday Aug. 5, 2019, to accommodate non-routine and routine maintenance activities, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials announced today.

    19-084 Corps invites comments on draft FONSI and EA for aquatic invasive mussel control rapid response plan

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Walla Walla District invites public comments on a Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and Environmental Assessment (EA) for a Rapid Response Action Plan (Plan) for the eradication of potential zebra (Dresissena polymorhpa) and quagga mussel (D. bugensis), infestations in the Columbia River Basin (CRB), as well as across infested waterbodies in the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. Comments will be accepted July 19, 2019 through Aug. 19, 2019.

    19-082 Dworshak discharge flows to increase to 12,500 cfs tomorrow; flows help cool rising river temperatures to improve conditions for migrating fish

    AHSAHKA, Idaho – Continued rising temperatures forecasted for the coming week https://www.weather.gov have prompted changes in flow operations at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Dworshak Dam and Reservoir near Orofino, Idaho. Water previously discharging at 9,500 cubic feet per second (cfs) from Dworshak Dam began increasing this afternoon toward target flows of 12,500 cfs, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) water-management officials. Downstream of the dam, water elevation will likely result in Clearwater River surface elevation increasing by about 9 inches at the at USGS gage located at Peck, Idaho.
