Recreation Opportunities

The Walla Walla District operates 37 recreation areas that include visitor centers, campgrounds, picnic areas, playgrounds, beaches, marinas, boat launches, day-use parks and nature trails. There are also concession areas and more than 30 recreation areas operated by other government or private agencies at our lakes.

Each year, Walla Walla District operating projects host nearly 8 million visitors who come to enjoy the many recreational opportunities available at our rivers and lakes. Whether it is fishing, camping, boating, picnicking, swimming, sight-seeing, bird watching, hunting or a variety of other recreation activities, Walla Walla District has it all! Bring the family and enjoy the outdoors! Make sure to wear your life jacket!

Each year, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers partners with thousands of individuals and organizations on a variety of recreation and environmental projects to enhance our nation’s lakes, rivers, and parks.  We are proud of our broad range of existing partners and eagerly seek to expand relationships with others.

The Walla Walla District and its operating projects work closely with a variety of partners to create new recreational opportunities, improve and construct trails, preserve history, protect wildlife, and expand learning opportunities.
